How to Get the Most out of your Massage

All the massages we provide our designed to make you feel relaxed and at ease. To help improve the enjoyment and benefits of our massages we have a few quick tips for you to bear in mind.

Avoid heavy meals immediately before your massage. During the massage, as your body becomes more relaxed, your metabolism and digestion can pick up pace and to avoid this from being distracting and potentially spoiling your massage its best not to go for your massage when you are full up. We advise having a light bite an hour or two beforehand such as a salad, small sandwich, fruit or yoghurt.

Drink plenty of water after your massage to increase its benefits. Although a massage is a relaxing experience many people are surprised to learn that the effect it has on our muscles is similar to what you would receive from a session at the gym or a run. The effects of the massage can leave your muscles slightly dehydrated (although it is not noticeable and will not cause you fatigue) which is why it’s recommended to drink plenty of water afterwards to ensure your muscles reap the full benefit.

Choose the right time for you to get the most out of it. As massages are designed to increase your relaxation and improve feelings of wellbeing try to schedule your massage at a time when you can really get the most out of it. If you have a busy week planned we recommend scheduling it either in the middle of the week (to break up your routine) or at the end of the week so that you can put your feet up and truly relax afterwards.
